Domain Name

The first step to getting a website up and running is to buy a domain name. A domain name is how people will find you on the world wide web. Example: The domain name of this site is fivealarmdesign.com

A lot of people choose their first and last name (oneword) as their domain name, such as www.janedoe.com. You first need to do a search to see if its available. You can search and purchase your domain name here. Domains usually run about $10 a year.

We STRONGLY recommend that you, yourself purchase your domain name so there is no future confusion as to who is the Owner of your domain name. It can be very difficult to transfer ownership of a domain name. NEVER deal with a web designer who will not let you own your domain name.

Hosting

You will need somewhere to "store" your website so that people may access it 24/7. This is called domain hosting. Domain Hosting usually runs about $4 per month. You can also pay yearly. You can add a lot of fancy extras on to your hosting package, but that's up to what you want for your website.

Design

Unless you are fluent in HTML, the code to design websites, you will need someone to design your site for you. That's where we come in. We charge a one-time flat set-up fee of $385. This includes consultation through launch of your site, including optimal key-words and meta-tags, multi-page designs, and custom layouts. WE DON'T USE COOKIE CUTTER TEMPLATES.

Monthly Maintenance

You will need monthly web maintenance to make changes to your website. We charge a monthly maintenance fee of $45 for UNLIMITED changes to your website. We usually have your website up to where it needs minimal maintenance, but you always want to be able to keep it updated. By keeping your website updated, you will begin to rank higher in the search engines, such as google and yahoo.

Blog Ghost-Writing

One of the things that makes your site rank higher on the search engines is update of content. Posting a blog allows constant content update. We can set up a free blog for your site. It is included in your site design. We also offer a ghost-writing service. We have three plans and each 250 word post generally costs $20
